Kitchen Creation: Yogurt Covered Blueberries

So as I showed yesterday, I got quite the bounty at the farmer’s market this weekend. I have no problem polishing off a few packages of strawberries and (my favorite) blackberries. The raspberries and blueberries sort of threw me though. I ate quite a few of the raspberries but there were just so many blueberries. I didn’t feel like baking them and wanted to try something new. Enter this exeriment: Yogurt Covered Bluberries!

My supplies:

The process was simple. Put yogurt in bowl. Dip blueberries in yogurt and then pop in the freezer.

There were a lot.

So I popped them in the freezer to set and then used a little spatula to break them free of the baking sheet.

The verdict? Ok but pretty tart. That might be due to using Greek Yogurt but I decided to try a healthy version first. I would imagine with regular vanilla sugary yogurt these would have been even better. So they were ok but not my personal favorite. If you like tart this is definitely a good little snack. I think next time I’ll stick to baking.

They can’t all be winners I guess…

  1. You could also try the vanilla flavored greek yogurts, as they add some sweetness without being too bad.

  2. I tried making these a few weeks ago, too, and got the same result. Except instead of using a toothpick to fish the berries out of the yogurt, I just mixed it all together. One. Big. Mess.
